Structural basis for genome modality of DNA mismatch repair

The SNF2-like chromatin remodeler SMARCAD1 extensively removes nucleosomes around a mismatched base pair in a MSH2-dependent manner. However it is still unknown how SMARCAD1 provides the accessibility of DNA in chromatin to DNA mismatch repair (MMR) proteins. In this study, we will reveal a structure of helicase domain of SMARCAD1 by X-ray crystallography and also analyze the structure, assembly and dynamics of SMARCAD1 complexes by SAXS and Cryo-EM.
