Understanding chromosome condensation during mitotic phase through the mode coupling between bend and twist

In geometry, the “kink” in chromatin or DNA is described by the basic modes: twist and supercoil. For example, when we bend the polymer chain including twist which is a kink around the centerline, the supercoiled chain appears. In this research, by using the coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation, we discuss the effect of the “kink” on the shape and the dynamics of chromosome condensation.
