Elucidating the dynamic regulatory crosstalk between genome structure and function

In this research program, we aim to quantitatively understand the dynamic functional interplay between the genome structure and transcription dynamics by combining variety of live-imaging and genetics approaches in early Drosophila embryos. Furthermore, this study will aim to unravel the novel genome organization principle by focusing on the functional analysis of architectural proteins other than CTCF and Cohesin. Realization of this project will reveal the fundamentally new principles that foster dynamic modulation of transcription activities in time and space during animal development.
